Question regarding metagaming

Fetty Wap

Is it metagaming if I use the name of the gang that took over the rebel outpost to identify what gang is currently there? Because it's marked on the map so I don't see how it is bad been told different things so would like it cleared up..

My way of understanding this would be.

If you use the info when they take over to go down and kill them, it would be metagaming.

But if you are at the post and can see the flag, you would see their "flag" and know its under "gang names" control.

Metagaming would be when you use the info you didnt gather ingame. So that for me would be if you use the notification, "gang name" is under controll of outpost #1.

But when you are close to the location and have a visual you would know its under gang control

As @Vlad Vagin said. When you're there they would surely have their markings in that area whether it be a flag or graffiti/ their common vehicles.

To be honest most people use the ' take overs ' to literally start a fight..So not sure what the problem would genuinely be with responding to it right away, any rebel would also most likely find out straight away if a gang base had been taken over, so realistically i think it's fine to know straight away?

The problem would be when it's calcified as metagaming. (at least in my book)

Since you have no idea to know this other than over "Radio" or through visual sight.
Either if a gang member sees it and call out a radio message, then you will know.
Or if you see it.

In a real life scenario if rebels would have been here, there would prolly been spotters out to control such areas with weapons and illegal trading. But unless you have a gang member stationed on 1 spot to do this and gather that info. You wont know.

When your are driving around and get a message in the top right corner thats not something you would have gotten in a real life scenario. And you gather that info from no RP.

And that is Metagaming.

Eh thats true. But most of the time i take one over EXPECTING other rebels to respond to it, as it's a chance to blow some steam off without RP ( Of which was the red zone, which has been removed ) So who knows.

Fetty said, So is it meta gaming or not? Nobody answered the fucking question- love fetty xx
