Question about RDM

Hello

I would like to ask about two particular situations if they would be considered as RDM.

1. My gang member is being chased by group of criminals. He can clearly say they want to rob him. They have guns and try to push him off the road. We set up ambush and kill them.

2. We stop group of people who are trying to sell some stuff. While we rob them police arrive at crime scene with weapons in hands. My fried who is covering area is opening fire without warning.

1 No initiation takes place, RDM

2 No initiation on the police, RDM
That is your answer

To expand on the why of the situation - put yourself in their shoes. If you are killed out of no where with no word or threat to you that you could have retaliated against or RPed with, you're going to be left with a sour taste in your mouth.

With this rule, people must initiate and open up a dialogue with someone prior to killing them. It is usually best to tell them your intentions clearly: if you do not do x, my man will shoot you" as opposed to "bad things will happen to you if you don't sod off". This lets the person know his life is in danger and he needs to act - whether this be to surrender or to hotmic that he's in trouble to his overwatch.

tl;dr

1 - ambushing is ok but you have to initiate on them (order them to halt the vehicle, dismount and put hands up or be shot, in example)

2 - you must initiate upon the officers by threatening them with the overwatch. If they do not surrender to your threat, you may then order the sniper to open fire.

if you have any other scenarios, feel free to ask and I will gladly help you to understand how to go about them without any embarrassing run ins with a farmer/angry scotsman/apple etc

(2.2) Random Deathmatch (also known as RDM) - Shooting at someone without engaging in any form of quality role play (eg. Giving enough time for them to comply with your order. Count downs are not considered quality roleplay, please at least attempt to create an interesting roleplay story before considering shooting.) is considered RDM. (Punishment is a ban).

You don't need to shot and kill someone for it to be classed as RDM just the act of shooting AT someone without engaging roleplay is punishable by deportation.
