Professions and skills/skill points

So i have three questions

Firstly, why do i need to sell drugs/ores to level up my profession which allows me to process faster rather than put my profession up by processing?

Second, are there any new plans for more skills or can they allow us to have more than 40 skill points?

Thirdly, what do you think of my following idea of a skill called Compact Logistics. which would either increase trunk capacity or lower the weight of items/ores/drugs allowing for more stuff in your trunk?

As far as I know, no. But I'm not Management.
