We have player A and player B
Player A is driving and player B is in the passenger seat

All of a sudden player B says in vehicle channel; "alright, i've got a weapon pointed at your head, i want you to pull over and give me your keys"
Player A then says; "no your not you're just sitting there, im taking you to the police station for threatening me"

As we all know arma doesn't allow weapons being used inside vehicles

So should player A be punished for failRP?
or should player B be punished for powergaming?

Tough one... but in all honesty, I would side with the "I only see what I can see" argument.
They can't see him pointing a gun at their head, and it's their own choice if they go along with it or not. I don't think PlayerA would get punished for that.
If he actually had a gun pointed at him, and he ignored it, that's definitely failRP.

I think RP in the scenario you've suggested is a bit of a gamble... the person who is saying "I've got a weapon pointed at your head" etc is taking a risk here, possibly he knows that technically they don't have to accept what he says.. Lets use the old "My gun is actually just a cabbage" argument from ALUK's history as an example (a cop restrains a rebel for having a gun, rebel says "its only a cabbage".. does the cop have to accept this RP story? Resounding answer was no...).

I think for a final statement, I'd say, that as for Player A... Not all RP has to go the way you want it to. Realise that Player B has taken a leap of faith in terms of an RP sense and maybe, just maybe go along with it. Sometimes it could lead to an amazing RP session, sometimes it won't though. But joining Player B on that leap of faith could lead to a fun or interesting situation you never really imagined.

The old powergaming Rule had a perfect explanation for this, something like using made up weapons to threaten people isnt valid Rp/Initiation or something along those lines.

I would assume Player A is entirely in the clear regardless of which Option he takes,as Player B isn't actually presenting a threat(which also means player A cant kill him for it without properly initiating & supplying demands first) mainly because it it's FailRp to ignore threats created by non existent weaponry every Hobo would take everybody hostage. Now if Player B actually has a Firearm on his person,I could possibly see a FailRP possibility.(You didnt exactly specify if Player B actually had a firearm)

Personally i would recommend avoiding using this as i can only really see trouble for both sides 8/10 times,I.E A drives into water,Into a wall,Immediatly hops out and kills B,B has a gun and A refuses compliance since he cant visibly see a threat & B jumps out and shoots him.

On top of this is it failrp if you try to use a starter pistol to rob someone and then they refuse to put their hands up/comply/run off because they know it's a harmless flare shooting gun.

If they are aware that it is a fake gun it isn't fail RP if they run off. It's like robbing someone with a gun with no bullets.

I would suggest that them "running off" isn't really quality RP but if they recognise that it is a fake gun and tell you they aren't going to comply, I don't see any problem with that at all.

To be fair. There is noway to actually see if a guy is real or not unless you are a professional gun expert. All it takes is that it looks real. Why even question it.

Ive always thought i could tell the difference, until i did get robbed at gunpoint. The gun was real.

But in ArmA, why take the risk. Serious roleplay is what the server lives on.

But as an answer. Whatever management says!
