What is the requirements for a police officer to search your vehicle?

Reasonable suspicion. However under the Road Traffic Act, a police officer may stop and search any motor vehicle i believe.

If they have reasonable suspicion
if you have a weapon or been seen with one by another unit
If you are in a drug related area or have just left the scene of a crime.
If you are wanted for murder/manslaughter and or armed robbery.

Those are just a few

Police Brutality .... then goes on about Police searching a vehicle... Really? Clickbait right here.

people seem to think the police cant just pull u over we can for just about anything i have pulled people over just for a RP chat about how nice there car is how much it cost est est

Police can pull you over for anything, but they can not search you, the only time they can search you is in a police checkpoint, and if you have been seen in an illegal area like drug fields dealers processing etc, or if they have seen you with an illegal firearm which is no longer visible ie you hid it.

Let me rephrase this properly:

-Police have the right to search you if you broken the law anywhere on the map.

-If your a wanted criminal, you will be searched

-Your evading a police officer trying to stop you, it gives him grounds to search you.

-You are in a drug related area, within 1km

-You have seen them with an illegal firearm and they have hidden it

-They have admitted to carrying an illegal item/substance

-You are in a police checkpoint

-If you have reasonable suspicion that a person has an illegal item/substance

-Depending on Roleplay of course, giving consent

i came here expecting a video of police brutality or some sort of dig at someone then its just someone asking about search of a vehicle. Very Dissapointed

Mr DI Info I suggest you read the Police Handbook, tut tut and you are a DI, so no you can not search for the quoted reasons.

I used some of the points that Info stated above to search people on previous occasions. I think that telling Info to read the police handbook in very undermining in my opinion...

Well you are entitled to your opinion, their is set out times you can search someone, doing it for failure to stop for the police is ridiculous, he is wanted for speeding I know search him,

I think its just funny how you can quote the real reasons to search someone then add your own on top, last time I checked he is a DI not CSI and should be following the law set out in his handbook not creating his own.
