Police / BH Scanning Cars for Bounties?

I was pulled over one day due to having a bounty and the police said they knew my name due to them scanning my car. Is it true that police can scan cars to ding out your name? Also, can Bounty Hunters pull you over and can they arrest yiu if they catch yiu committing crimes like dealing drugs

this is is not a complaint, just a question :)

Police can scan your vehicle but it gives them the name of the owner not of the driver so you can always try and RP out of it.

And not sure about bounty hunters they are not police but they can arrest you if you do something that gives you a bounty.

Police have a ANPR radar on all of their vehicles, they activate it and the vehicle type and owner pops up. Note: only the owner, if the car is stolen, it wont show your name and if your wanted.

Bounty hunter do not have access to the ANPR as far as I know, and yes bounty hunters can arrest you if you are doing crimes.

alright and if yiu say you are not the owner (even if yiu are) do you have a chance of being let off?

also please could someone confirm for me, if I see someone selling drugs at the church as BH, can I stop them tell them to stay where they are and if they run away, taze and arrest them?

You could try and taze them but if they dont have a bounty it wont do anything,

For things like seeing someone selling drugs as a BH I would call the police.

Even if you take down the said person if they don't have a bounty you cant send them to jail.

With RP there is always a way. For instance you could be a employee at a car rental service who is dropping off a car for a client. Cars not yours becuase its a hire as well as it being temporarily licensed to your client.

As a bounty hunter its better to let the cops deal with drug busts as you dont have the fire power or the numbers usually needed to deal with it.

thanks for this, so is it safe to say that BH are not there to deal with crimes as they happen, just to get the bounty?

In short yes, but its also a fun way to RP with people.

RP with a hobo to become you stitch, and get the names off people with bountys

Here's a tip. Never trust a bounty hunter, speak to them as little as possible. Us police never trust them either. And yes we have a special scanning device fitted to our cars called an ANPR, (automatic numberplate reader) this may have been highlighted earlier in the thread
