Playing AltisLife has affected my gaming experience

Don't worry, not a negative thread! :D

Anyway.

I'm sure most of you find this, but after playing ALUK (either for long periods or over the course of a few months), your experience with other games with VoIP is affected. I especially find this in games such as H1Z1, Gmod and DayZ.

Let me explain what I'm on about. When playing these games, or watching others play for that reason, and they say something over voice like:

"Oh, did you just get this game"

or in Jailbreak "Using microphones for prisoners is now autorebel"

in my head I yell: "OOOHHH SHIT HE'S BROKEN ROLEPLAY". Then I realise, I'm not playing on ArmA xD.  It's really weird because after playing on this community for so long, I feel like the other games I play are affected by the rules and attitudes here.

Anyone else get this sometimes?

(P.S. Terribly sorry if this makes absolutely no sense - I've just woken up after a boiling hot night of minimal sleep xD)

I kind of know what you mean.

The amount of times I've played DayZ and thought. "WTF, he didn't even role-play first!" then finally realised, oh yeah, its DayZ...

Yeah, I was playing some H1Z1 BR with my friends and we saw a guy and they told me to kill him (Cos I had a gun), and I said

"Wait, we need to issue compliance and initiate RP".

And they just stopped and said "WTF!?!"

xD

I forget who it was who spent one night in the NHS Lounge counting all of the RDM's in band of brothers, but seriously, i know what you mean man, i rage out in rust when i die without them saying anything, then realize its not ARMA xD

I know what you mean- but the positive spin on this is I enjoy bringing role play (basically out of habit) into all those other games I play!
For example, I play Ark, and I love pretending to be a caveman over the mic, or asking people where they're from and asking about the 'dinosaurs from where they live' etc. Some Norwegian blokes humoured me, telling me all about the mythological trolls in Norway last week, it was great fun.  ;)

It's like Rust.. nowadays when i go meet someone, the first thing i say is "I'm friendly".

xD

I try and roleplay in BF4...

Dancing in front of an enemy tank isn't the best way to get a high K/D ratio

I tried to roleplay in csgo once, the other team cant hear you so it was just RDM all the time
