In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I was banned for Mass RDM in Kavala and then for evading that ban by trying to circumvent it through making a new account. I'm cringing as I type those last words because evading a ban like that is so immature and suggests that I will just be right back to more egregious behavior; this is not the case. Let's start with the details behind the mass RDM incident. So i had been playing with this group for a month or so on the server and had bought Arma III a few months before that. One day, one of our group mates received a ban for RDMing and the leader decided everyone would move servers and leave this one by going out with a bang. So we all geared up and went to Kavala to shoot random players. Again, I'm cringing as I type this because I never thought I'd resort to this type of toxicity in any game. My justification with these actions (at the time) was that "he's the leader and has been playing this game for years. I should listen to him". We got banned, and rightfully so. I soon after left that horrid group and realized the mistake I had made. After my ban appeal was denied (and rightfully so), I decided to buy another copy of Arma and play on the server again with a new profile. My intent behind this was purely to begin role-playing and having fun again and although my intent was pure, it was also extremely wrong to do what I did. Again I rightfully got banned and have since been biding my time until 6 months passed so I can try to rejoin the server and make more amazing memories.
What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?
Going to college, working, practicing guitar, and socializing with new people. Because of my newer schedule I have had less time (a lot less, unfortunately) to game. As my schedule is shifting more I can allow myself more time for the games I used to play for hours without even realizing it. I've been working on myself and doing some "soul-searching" for lack of a better and non clichéd phrase. 6 months is not a lot of time, but I'd like to say that during the last half year, I've made some significant changes in my life. These changes include controlling myself in intense situations, being conscious of myself when I get angry, and in turn increasing my decision making skills, and working on my anxiety. The road to self improvement never ends and as we grow older and more mature, we make less mistakes and learn from our past ones.
Why do you want to return ?
Arma is one of those games I would pour hours and hours into but it wasn't on missions, campaigns, battle royal, or Apex content. It was on this server. Roleplay.co.uk is easily the most superior role-play server available and (in my opinion) one of the best servers in the whole damn game. I love the commitment your members make to role-play situations, the energy and time it's admins and other staff sacrifice to uphold the prestigious reputation it has had for years, the vigilance with which staff members handle bans and rule breakers, all of the updates you guys continue to pump out on the server, the UNMC, the late night drug runs, the adrenaline rush of combat scenarios, the intense dedication of the police force and NHS to upholding role-play and an extremely entertaining experience for all players. All of it, the good and the bad, have caused me to fall in love with the server and to deeply regret my past actions. I want to return to the community so I can try to make up for my dark past on the server by helping newer players, joining the NHS or (someday hopefully) the police force, and to make new amazing memories. I have yet to find a role-play community/server that comes close to this one in professionalism, fun, hilarity, and that instills me with such a strong longing to return.
Why should we unban you ?
I cannot justify my past actions, only promise to never repeat them. What I did was wrong and I never doubted that, even while I was committing the RDMs and creating a new account so I could get around the first ban. I feel horrible for what I did to those players, some of them could have had end game gear or large amounts of cash. Regardless if they had these items or were fresh spawns, it ruined their experience and tainted the reputation of the server in their eyes. It created unnecessary work for the admins and wasted their time. This goes for my ban evading as well; it was a slimy move and is something I will not do again. I have had the past half year to reflect on these actions and am thoroughly confident that I will follow the rules and create amazing role-play memories for both myself and those around me. The lessons I learned the hard way on this server will stay with me for the rest of my gaming career and my life. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this appeal and for considering it.
