Quick FYI: I'm appealing from when I was originally banned for 1.9 on 06/12/2017. If you would like for me to appeal from when my other bans were put in place, that's completely fine and I'll happily wait out the time for them. Also apologies for me ban evading, it isn't my intention to use the forums for anything other than this appeal.

1.9 ban (Providing a false age when applying to join a whitelisted faction in order to circumvent the age limits is punishable by a ban. 06/12/2017

This was my original ban put in place as mentioned above. I have not much more to say other than it was a silly and stupid mistake on nobody else's but my part. I had the wrong mindset at the time and thought I could get away with attempting to join the police force with an extended age. I wasn't having fun whilst in the UNMC so I decided to take another experience, although this doesn't make my decision justified in a sense whatsoever. At the time I thought it was unfair and I didn't deserve it, however looking back onto the person I used to be, I've realised what mistakes I've made and how stupid I must've sound as it was a purely justified ban. I'm afraid I don't have anything more to say about this ban as it was a fairly simple reason as to why it was put in place.

Contributing factors to this ban: Previous police blacklists and a warning I believe a received a while back for combat log.

Again, another stupid mistake on my behalf. I put in a departure post (https://www.roleplay.co.uk/topic/98231-pfc-ollie-going-for-a-bit/) whilst still actively using the RPUK services. I really don't know what went through my head, to be frankly honest with you I believe I put the post up mainly for attention and forum rep, which I'm sure you can agree is an extremely silly thing to do. I was fairly upset about the 1.9 that was put in place, even though I constantly denied it. At the time I thought it was unfair and I didn't deserve it (as mentioned above). I attempted to appeal this through a PM with Vladic Ka which leads to the ban below.

1.6 Community Ban: Unaware of the date I'm afraid.

This is 100% the best example I can give of the old me. As explained in the 1.6 rule, I was here to cause issues and drama without thinking straight. At the time I was involved in a community that was extremely toxic (not going to mention the name, I'm sure you know which one I am talking about) that made threats, leaked photos of staff members, made ridiculous Arma 3 units with these leaked pictures and more. I wasn't directly involved in these attacks and I did attempt to steer others away from them, however, they didn't seem to listen. This isn't me saying I didn't deserve the ban, I did and I fully accept that I was involved with the people there (Bailey, Lastnickleft, Morrisons etc), I even had a staff role at one point. I was told in PM by Vladic Ka about comments I had made elsewhere. At the time I was unaware of what comments he meant and I claimed this in a reply. After the 1.6 was put into place, I discovered a youtube comment that (to my knowledge) was recently deleted. It quite simply claimed, "RPUK was a shit community". This links to the point above where I was still upset by the original bans put into place. There was also a comment put on the Toxic communities' forum page which I believe offended a few people, I do not remember the actual message though. As mentioned above, I wasn't involved with the comments made by this community and I had no power to remove them, so I eventually left before it closed down. I do not wish to be involved with some of the people there anymore, however, I still talk to a couple in a peaceful manner every now and again.

I would like to apologise greatly for everything mentioned. I have realised what offence and damage some of it may have caused, and I wasn't aware of this whilst doing it. I think the impact of what small actions can cause has really hit me due to the experiences I have had IRL recently. I would like to prove I am a changed person. I am set out to try and show others how my general attitude has developed in the last 6 months and I'm afraid there are very little ways to show this with words on a screen.

What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?

In the last 6 months, I have taken a fairly large break from Arma and RP in general. It was only recently I started to get into MILSIM units and play around on Gmod with some friends. I have been attending school a lot more and I've managed to set my priorities correct.

Why do you want to return ?

After taking my long break from Arma, I wish to return to an Altis life server with good qualities and people. From the time I had in this community, I was pretty much always happy and had a fair few friends that shared the same values. I would also like to return to prove I am a better, matured and changed person. As said above, there is only so much words can do on a screen and I'd like to prove this whilst on the RPUK services. I also have a fair few friends I wish to catch up with and see what is new with them and the server in general. I've heard from a few people that the server has received a large number of updates that refresh the experience for all and overall make the server a really enjoyable experience for all.

Why should we unban you ?

I apologise for repeating myself, but I believe I should be unbanned due me being changed. I can and will show a positive attitude 100% of the time whilst evaluating situations and showing empathy for others. I will try my absolute best not to make mistakes like the ones mentioned again as these are stupid ideas that popped up in my head when I wasn't thinking correctly. I can promise when I'm not feeling 100%, I shall not take the risk of logging onto the RPUK services to avoid this ever happening again. I have a strong and positive attitude for the future.

Hi there Aiden, thank you for the response.

The name I connected with "Free up the boys" I did not intend to connect to the RPUK services with this name. I play on a modded community that starts with an R, meaning it is directly above the RPUK server as I do not have many servers on my recent tab anymore. This is purely an inside joke with my friends not affiliated with RPUK, and I did not intend to cause any harm or drama whilst under this name. After joining with this name and receiving the Battleye kick message, I realised I had performed a mistake and didn't think too much of it. I understand that this is an immature name to join with, but as mentioned above I did not intend to join the server with this name.

Moving onto the second comment, I do not recall making this. I'm not saying I haven't, but I have a fairly short memory span. If possible, are you able to confirm the platform this was on? Also, I believe a typo has been made with the date, as the 6/12/18 is the 6th of December 2018, however I'm assuming you meant 2017, the date of my original ban. Due to this, I can only say I never really had any real intentions to do this. I most likely said this out of anger and frustration, this doesn't make saying it acceptable in any way shape or form though.

Now all of this is very good but, as far as your original ban 1.9, which is specifically a ban about lying. Why should I believe you? If you've broken the trust to our whitelisted factions, why should I take a chance on you?

I completely understand this trust issue and from putting myself in your shoes I can see where the complications and worries start to come in. I remember quite clearly at the time of me lying. I was really frustrated with my experience in game and didn't think straight whatsoever. I had a couple of times where I thought "Is this really worth the risk of being banned" but due to my immaturity I didn't take this into account and still tried to have the cheek to attempt to regain a spot back into the police. There are also factors from that situation that come into a more positive light in this unban appeal. Sometimes I worry that I'll be unable to show remorse for my actions and it will lead to my appeal becoming denied. However, after taking time to evaluate the situation (Like I should have done on the date of my 1.9 ban) I realise what I need to do and how I can fulfil these tasks at hand without bringing any negativity towards the impact. There is obviously the risk of having this appeal denied, and I understand that. But I will not go out of my way to change my current emotions and view on this situation, which I believe are quite positive and optimistic.

From my time away I've started to get into school a lot more which is where I believe I have learnt this sense of empathy and forward thinking. It did take some time for me to understand, but I gradually made progress to become the person I am today. I do hope you can agree that I have turned around myself in a positive way.

Hello there Matt.

Thank you for the response. Expanding on the first point you have made, I completely understand this. As Aiden said above, how am I meant to be trusted if I have lied to the faces of people once before? I hope me answering the question of what I can bring if I was to return to this community will bring some sense of trust back into me. I don't want to blab on, so I'll answer the main question now.

The main quality I can bring back to this community is a caring, helpful and positive attitude. I remember last time I was here I was an arrogant and demanding person, which I have changed from my time away. I have grown naturally to help and support people that have any issues or questions regarding something I am experienced in. This is a good skill to have not just to benefit people in game, but I use it in my personal life, that's the kind of person I am I guess.

If I was to be unbanned I have a few things I'd love to do in game. My first task would be to see if there was any chance my Surgeon position was still available in the NHS. I had some really fun times in the medical faction, at one point I even gained an MTO spot. My roleplay skills have always been great and I do hope to apply them to the faction. The second thing on my list would be to start an RP based gang/group. I would love to have a few friends in there for a little mess about with funny RP and overall just have a fun time with good people. From a couple of friends telling me, a couple of gangs have been blanket banned for them being solely combat. If I was to receive this unban, the group would not be based around this whatsoever and would primarily be for roleplay.

I don't want to regret this.

Lying is a thing in life that everyone does to get what they want. There is not much I can work with in order to characterise you and know weather you would lie given the chance again, with this in mind, there is only one way to find out and that is give you another chance.

You only have this ban on record, just because it's the 1 doesn't make it any difference that having 3, so bare that in mind when you come back. I'll be monitoring your game-play closely. Don't let yourself down.
