In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
First Ban (Racism): My initial ban was the 20/01/17 (almost 2 years ago) for using derogatory language that was clearly vulgar. Although I cannot recall what happened I can outright agree it was completely unacceptable and shouldn’t have been said not only on the server, but at all. It was also mentioned by an admin in reply to my most recently denied appeal that I was rude towards staff also, which again I do not remember exactly but I want to apologise to the staff involved if they are still in this community, and although it was a long time ago it still does not remove the fact it was wrong and disrespectful and for that I’m sorry.
Current Ban (Ban Evading): I had switched from my original steam account around March 2018 to my current one. I picked up ArmA III in a sale whilst rebuilding my games library and started playing RPUK with a few friends, not taking into account I was already previously banned as I didn’t remember the ban from (at the time - a year and half ago).
Matt shared on my most recent denied appeal a kick message from my previously banned account “Player Jameszf was kicked ((1.2) racism - By DELETER on 20/01/2017) by an unknown admin” I mentioned this on my last appeal also, but how would I recall being banned from a server where my previous ban was over a year ago at the time. I was probably going through servers looking for something to play (which I often do), saw the kick message and moved on. Then switching ArmA account a few months later and joining the server without knowing about my old ban. I do understand looking at the recent connection between the old and new account that it looks like I was aware of the previous ban and was trying to join the server, but If so why would I try and rejoin on an already banned account if I knew.
What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?
In the last 6 months I have been working on my second year of college and in my spare time learning 3DS Max (3D modelling) as well as often playing Rocket League and Star Citizen. I have also been working a job which has taught me a lot of self-discipline and motivation which before I feel maybe I was lacking as an individual.
Why do you want to return ?
I want to return because my time on the server was some of the best I had experienced within an Arma roleplay server, the experience I had on the server with friends and other players are amongst my favourite memories playing Arma. Alot of my friends still play RPUK and talk to me about it fairly often about the stuff they’re doing and the situations they get into and I miss being apart of it. This is why I'm writing my second ban appeal in an attempt to be an active and respectful member of this community once again.
Why should we unban you ?
Firstly, I would like to apologise for the language I used almost 2 years ago which caused my first ban from the community. It was wrong of me and having matured as a person, especially with current events going on in my life I feel I have grown as a person quite a lot, it was outright wrong for me to use language like that and I would like to apologise to any members of the RPUK community as well as any staff that I offended at the time. However, a lot has changed since then and I likely back then thought I was being smart or clever, but in reality and looking back on it now I clearly wasn’t and it was wrong, childish and immature. At a glance for my reasons of being banned I look like a member of a community you wouldn’t ever want, and for the reason of my initial ban I agree. But a lot changes in two years, I’ve changed and developed as a person and still after all this time want to return and be a respectful member of this community again. The ban evasion was an honest to god mistake, not for a second did I realise I was actively evading a ban at the time a year or so prior. Only when I went to teamspeak to ask for help from an admin about something I bought in-game did they look through my account and tell me I had an old account banned from the server and the reason. It was embarrassing and I felt ashamed. In my previously denied unban appeal I didn’t explain things clearly and seemed like I was lying or contradicting myself but It just wasn’t written right and I feel like that led to some misunderstanding of the events and my side of the story. I have nothing else to say besides apologising for messing up on this community and I hope that I can be given a chance to prove I can be a good member of RPUK. Thanks.
