So I'm getting a new PC (forgot the specs...) within a few weeks and I was wondering if I can just take out that PC's hard drive(s) and put in mine that I have in my current pc and I won't have to re install and download everything agin?

I'm horrible at all this pc tech stuff :p

Yes it is possible but make sure that the drive sizes are the same, if not then you may want to buy some smaller caddies for them.

You should in theory be able any drives you have, however I would advice just a fresh install, fresh installs feel so nice and clean from all the stuff that slows down your PC in the background.

in the absolute short-term, yes. But long-term > 1 day no. Your windows install will be set up with drivers etc for hardware you dont have, will run like a bag of shit in a rainy day, and will crash badly. I'd be genuinely surprised if you managed to run any games or applications, let alone get it to boot without fettling.

It will be enough for you to put the new one together, boot it up and immediately start the reformat process, then install all your drivers for the new hardware, then redownload your stuff and restore data from back up :)

yeah it works, fine, but as Zeito states it is much better to do a clean install :)
