PC is fucked

So I’ve just rebuild my pc with some mad upgrades... Unfortunatley it’s fucked :), boots up, then a minute later it reboots, no video or any of my keyboard and mouse light up, ram is all in the right place.

I7-7700k

1080

500W PSU

2x 4GB Ram

Most likely a power supply issue mate. Personally I always go double the power than what I require. On friday I upgraded to the X299 Chipset and that sodded my PSU. Now I've upgraded to a 1000W supply.

If it isn't going to any boot screen it's also likely that it's a motherboard issue. You will often get motherboards that are D.O.A (Dead on arrival). But running on an I7-770k I would say your issue is it being under powered.

When I upgraded my CPU From an I5 4460 To an I7 7740X I had a 750W power supply. So I would say the PSU is the most likely issue. You can't really properly troubleshoot unless  I have the PC in front of me.

Try booting without the GPU plugged in

try this with each ram stick with/without the GPU aswell

dosconnect Any unneeded drives (any without your OS)

Ya like it’s booting up but nothing is going to the BIOS menu or anything, recon I’m gonna have to splash out on a psu again lol

Cheers for the help, unfortunatley didn’t work :((

@Felix - Yello It's most likely a D.O.A Board or Power supply issue then. Obviously this isn't a definite. I had a lovely coil squeal when I had an issue like this originally.

I had a similar problem once, and I believe the solution was to reset the CMOS. I might be mistaken, but its worth a try to reset it. Just locate that disc battery on the MB and keep it out for 20 seconds (with the computer completely off ofcouse). Plug it back in and try again. Unsure if that solution was linked to this problem, but you could try.

Never had a speaker in it - so nah might post a video of it in a sec
Your computer should have
7158JrlVinL._SX355_.jpg
one of those.. it would beep if it was a drive issue.

Thankfully I accidentally ordered 2 motherboards 😂 I’ll try rebuilding it later

Motherboard didn’t come with that for some reason, I’ll check the box again

heres my situation

I’m rlly sorry about my cable management 😂

@Felix - Yello Just a quick question. You are grounding yourself before you start building right? Gotta make sure you're properly grounded when building. Especially if the floor you're working on is a fabric

I have an anti static mat which I used to make it yes, I grounded it all, I just took it back into my room to test

@Felix - Yello The speaker often comes with the PC Case not the board or anything like that. To be fair I haven't got much of an Idea of what it could be. Connect your PSU to your old board and CPU. No need to apply a heatsink as it's for testing. See if that boots up properly. If so the PSU might not be the issue, however I still believe you are under powered running on what you are.

its your power supply you need 650+ or a rams slot is dead and/or a stick is dead
I’ve just oredered another PSU (and another 4gb of ram cos an i7 + 1080 with only 8gb is a bit retarded lol) so we will see tomorrow if the PSU is the issue

Tbh, 8GB of RAM is okay due to I7s having a larger cache. It’s stupid only having 8GB on an I5 or something like that. Also, you need a motherboard like this Felix. Pure sex

Always update to the X299 ;D
