Orca + Hummingbird disappeared

What was lost: Orca Helicopter

Value of item/money lost: 750k

Quick description of what happened: I landed at the donator shop to wait for my friends to catch up. There was a guy there who told me he was going to buy a car. As soon as the bought the car and the car spawned, my orca and his car blew up. It seems the car spawned on the spot where the orca was parked.

Orca not in garage after restart.

ALSO - My Rebel Hummingbird disappeared after todays restart (01/05/14) at 1200hrs. Value of ~450k

Meh! You landed it on the no-parking zone at a spawn point! You were told in advance that someone was going to spawn a vehicle on it.

What precisely did you *think* might happen?

That they might merge into a beautiful 'hatchbackocopter' or something? :)

Nope, blevy fireball would always be my first guess, I have to say...

Wilco - your shout, LOL. I'd say this was 'misadventure', personally.

 
I do understand that the heli blew up cause of the car, but doesnt it usually appear in the garage anyway after a restart?

 
Curiously enough, no. The way Tonic's 'vehicle killed' code works, due to the way it was originally written, it means that *sometimes* an exploded (killed) helicopter will vanish from your collection, and sometimes it won't. I haven't quite worked out why, but it's down to the fact that Tonic hooked up an event-handler to a 'local' killed event, rather than a multiplayer one. I may change this in a future revision, but for the time being, I've left things alone.

I will refund the Hummingbird now (453099). As for the Orca, it *does* appear to be in your garage at the moment... please let me know if this is not the case (I'm presuming you only had one, originally?).

The Orca I have in the garage was bought after this incident, because it was the only way i could make some cash (doing salt runs etc in it).

Thank you for refunding my hummingbird - hope we can sort out this Orca problem too!
