problem is, the link im supposed to get the mod with (ftp://addons.tacticalcombatgaming.com/TCGAL/.a3s/autoconfig) arma3 sync cant connect to.

fml, or other options?

There is no need to download a mod ofr our server, simply click to join, download the mission file, select a civ slot and bobs ya uncle you're in

steam bootstrap tells me the server is not responding.

youre saying i can just click the altis life 1 or 2 up top right?

Yes just disable arma 3 sync and all mods you have and go to direct connect in arma and type in s1.roleplay.co.uk  for altis life server 1, or s2.roleplay.co.uk for the second, you see the ip's in the top of the website. But there are no mods to download, so yes you just need to click and join and have fun!

All our servers are with 0 mods at all. Simple steps, search up roleplay.co.uk on direct connect, double tap server 1 or 2 "depending which you wanna join" Click civilian slot and just let the mission file download. Done...
