Hey, so today i tried to download the driver version 378.78 for my geforce gtx 1070 however the installation always fails, i have turned my pc on and off multiple times, i have uninstalled previous drivers and have even tried to preform a clean install. I have tried to both manually install the driver from the Nvidia site and have also tried to install the driver from the geforce experience software however both fail. I thought maybe i will just download the previous driver that i had just so i can play games, but now i cannot even install any version of the nvidia drivers meaning all of my games have poor performance. Please help, below is an image of the error that appears.

Do you have any antivirus running that could be potentially blocking a connection? Most likely issue that I can think of.

Even if you have some installed that you don't think could be causing an issue, I'd disable it entirely while you test to see if the update works.

Failing that, you should go into your task manager and end all NVIDIA related processes. After that, delete the following files/folders if they exist:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvdsp.inf file
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_lh file
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvoclock file
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\
C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\

Finally, restart your PC and then reinstall the driver, and select "perform clean installation" in the custom options.

If that doesn't work, get back to me and I'll look into it a bit more.

Use Guru3D Display Driver Uninstaller to fully remove all traces of previous drivers, download the file from the Nvidia site and also try running it as administrator for good measure

for those wondering - it's en-vid-ia, as in the goddess Invidia. The logos are green, as in the spirit of envy :)
