Note 4 charging issue

Hello.

Currently using a galaxy note 4 and my battery won't charge unless I turn my phone off 

I have tried different chargers different cables even in the PC and still the same problem. 

Have been around Google but can't find much on it.

 
sound weird maybe a software issue?

is it up to date? It can't really be the battery if it still charges when turned off

have you recently updated your phone ?
also, are you using stock charger with original cable?

If you put the device into power saving mode or airplane mode to turn off the wifi+data, does it charge when on? Are you using the original charger? Other charges and cables may not supply the same volts+amps as the original.

It could be if the battery is shagged it's discharging faster than it can charge up. When did this start?

And if you look under 'Settings' is Fast Charging enabled?

Nope.. Last update was a few months ago when this was already happening.

Updated it today and still the issue.

Yes, its a fast charger and original cable.

I have turned on power saving, still doensn't charge. I also have turned airplane mode on at which point it still doesn't charge. 

I have been trying with fast charging enabled but earlier today i turned it off and same issue still occurs.

 
if you turn it off and take it out, any sign at all - even slightly the battery is swollen?

 
I used to have a note and had a similar issue, store took it back said it was defective. Wish I would have asked what was wrong so I could help you, best of luck though.

from what i could see on the internet I would agree with this, but worth checking other avenues first

Can you confirm the phone doesn't receive any additional charge and just doesn't show the charging symbol or are you 100% sure there is no power increase at all?

Does the Note 4 have a charging indicator light on the device? For example some devices may have a small flashing light whilst charging.

If it does, does this display whilst charging when the device is powered off?

Yeah it does have a light.. but nope.. when its off it doesn't light up when charging.

Very strange, could be a hardware or software issue really, I'd say your best bet is contacting samsung, or wherever you purchased the phone.
