No toleration for newbies?

Being a new player to this game I accidentally broke character for a few seconds out of frustration in voice and I find myself banned for 5 days? How is this fair, and how do expect new players to not just give up on this game with these overly harsh penalties being imposed?

Read the rules, that's what it says when you first join the server.

It does say before you join to read the rules, you still continued. It's your responsibility to make sure you are aware of server rules.

The rules are here for a reason,  to maintain the quality that we have. It clearly advices you to read the rules before starting playing- if you'd just read the welcome screen. I was watching the stream when you got banned - you did not just break RP for 5 second, you did it multiple times, people even hinted to you. This is a serious roleplay server and a mature community, complaining about you being banned and refering to the rules as "Draconian rules" does not show that you are. Take the fact that you were banned out on yourself instead of the community, learn for your mistakes and appeal again when your cooldown is over. Oh, and as it was said on your appeal, take your appeal more serious next time.

As everybody has mentioned the rules.. I will mention the amount of times veterans of the server slip up and break character for a few moments. Now im not saying its right and I don't know the situation surrounding your ban but if it was for a simple slip up, I would expect a warning, since that's what I do and others do for new players, we just send them a // side chat message.

The slip up was very short and as soon as I realised I was trying to cover my mistake by saying I was a Buddhist and was thinking about my former past lives, which I thought was not only funny (for those with a sense of humour) but made up for my slight error. I'm guessing you were with the other players who were constantly just saying to me "How are you alive"? Which wasn't helping at all Mr Sonder

Somebody stick to the rules as if their lifes depended on it. I'm not saying break them, I'm saying you deserve a warning at least

Thanks Tim..... I dunno what else there really is to say seeing as none of the others feel I should be cut any slack, I've re appealed and inserted the sincere apology that was probably missing from my first appeal so just hope they can throw me a bone of forgiveness.....

Either way I'm too tired to argue anymore thanks for the support tho

(Just in case anyone was wondering: The whole post should be read in the infamous "poor me" tone of resignation..lol)

Actually Gwyn, your ban was interesting, you was banned by Vladic on stream who was reluctant to ban you and would usually talk to them as a warning, however, you broke roleplay 3 times during the stream, he even asked for advice from 40 viewers. You had more than enough chances to fix your act.
