If they have hurt their head roleplay a concussion/ head injury. You can react in anyway you want; say/make up a medical illness and then attempt to treat them.

If I'm honest with you all I do is bullshit as much as possible. I also Throw in some medical lingo to make it sound like I know what im doing. It's really just your interpretation of a situation. Watch an episode of house or casualty and im sure it'll give you some wonderful ideas to show off in game.
