New Monitor - Help Please

Hey guys and girls of altis,

I have been looking around lately for a new monitor but I have a tight budget. I am not going for 4k seen as it is just to expensive for my current budget, so I will be going for a 1080p monitor. I am never any good when it comes to research so I was wondering if you guys can help me out, I don't want it to be a massive but not small either so round about a 23 Inch display. To keep things nice and simple Here is a list of things I would like it to include:

  • Price Range: £150 (its ok if it goes a little over)
  • Size: 23 Inch Display (Roughly)
  • Resolution: 1080p
  • Bezel: Not a massive bezel, as small as possible
They are the main things I am looking for, I currently have the Dell U2312HM and would like something similar.

Hope you can help, Thanks!

Just did a real quick websearch and found a few 1440p monitors for around the price of your budget.

Haven't checked out in details and I haven't checked the reviews, but this one looks ok.

Oh ok, when you said you can go over budget a little bit, I wasn't sure how much :p

The dell you mentioned seems pretty nice, IPS panels are pretty sweet - I haven't really been looking into 1920x1080 monitors as recently I've been looking into upgrading to 4k.

I guess wait for someone else's input :)

Freesync is only really good for AMD cards - It's the AMDs  equivalent to Nvidias GSYNC

If you use a Nvidia card, I don't think it would cause any issues, but you won't be able to use the feature, and I think monitors with Freesync, like Gsync, cost a little bit more.

I do like the look of that one but it does not have a DVI port (Here) so its not the one for me.

I think I might go for the BenQ RL2455HM. Seems like a good screen for its price.
I've been looking at the specs from both of them, they both have different areas they are better in.  Tough cal really.  The Dell has a better Panel, so better viewing angle/colours but the BenQ has better response time and bigger screen.

I guess it's all down to personal preference.

Good luck making your mind up :)  (Flip a coin :D)

@ojbristow Well then I think I have came to the choice of the BenQ seen as it's mean't for gaming and it is a lot cheaper, Thanks for the help.

Going to wait a little and see if anyone else has any ideas. Feel free to let me know.

Sweet - Let us know what you get/how it preforms :)

I have the BenQ RL2455HM, I can say it's a fantastic monitor! haven't had one problem with it and it has a 1ms refresh rate!

@JStar I think I will be going for the BenQ, seen as its looks great for the price.

If I don't go for that I may go for this. But I am currently unsure.

@Maverick69I do like the look of that monitor but I does not accept DVI from what I can see, and that is the main cable I will be using.

Thanks for the help guys. @JStarbefore I forget  it's Just a quick question does it completely rotate to a vertical position?

all you would need is a hdmi female to dvi, 5 quid max

I have a BENQ and I just realized that I think that is my monitor. It is a fantastic monitor and if you can afford it then it's well worth the buy
