Hey everyone

Im looking to upgrade my pc for arma and everything else i play and just generally to future proof it for a couple of years.

I mostly will be wanting to just change my Motherboard cpu and perhaps case and if necessary a power supply.

Here is my current Specs

CPU - i5 3570

GPU - GTX 8gb 1070 (just bought this couple weeks ago)

Mobo - Gigabyte Z77-DS3h

Ram - 8gb (cant remember the type)

PSU - 550w Corsair

SSD - 120GB

HDD - BLUE Caviar 1tb

Case - Corsair spec 03

Just wondering if you would suggest what mobo / cpu to get

Budget is around £300 if possible max £350

Cheers

Asus Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard, and atleast 6800k, then you have a badass pc like me ;)

These are only examples, but considering your tight budget, you could consider the following:

https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Intel+Core+i5+6600K+3.50GHz+Skylake+Processor+-+Unlocked+?productId=64166

Intel Core i5 6600K 3.5GHz - 3.90 GHz - approx £215 gbp, allows for overclocking in the future should you wish, quad core w/ HT so 8 logical CPUs. Good strong CPU without the added expense of the i7.

Mobo wise - any socket 1151 mobo should work, the one you buy depends on how much you want to spend, i tried to keep it low with this example but it's still a good board: https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Intel+Socket/Socket+1151+-+Intel+B150/GIGABYTE+B150+Sniper+B7+Gaming+ATX+Skylake+Motherboard+?productId=65782

The majority of boards I saw were crossfire boards, which doesnt matter much unless you plan to SLI in future, you would need to make sure your mobo is SLI capable, though tbh, SLI isnt really worth it over 1 large powerful card.

id maybe recommend upgrading you PSU to at least a 650w that then allows for safe upgrading in the future. A decent one goes for around 80-90 pounds

I5 7700k is a pretty solid processor , along with an asus strix - h (the one I have I think) is an awsome combination , can push it all the way up to about 5 ghz , if you know your voltages etc. But the default

OC that asus provides are pretty solid !

I kinda went crazy and went a fair bit over budget

Went for a i7 6700k

GTX 1070

16gb HyperX Fury Ram

Z170-p

h75 Liquid Cooler

Yodel are by far the worst Courier and are currently 4 days late on the case a s340 nzxt

;D I will upload some pictures to the Setup Section when its done.
