*Need advice on GPU to purchase*

I would just like some unbiased advice on which gpu I should purchase. Any advice is appreciated

Just giving your choice isn't really giving any good advice guys xD

So, on to my opinion...

Those two cards perform very similarly, so whatever choice you make here is all a matter of opinion and what it's being used for.

If mainly gaming (which I'll assume), then right now using DX11 the 1060 takes a slight edge with many games. However, with DX12 releases due that could turn into AMD's favour. Again though, the difference is minimal so it's mainly preference again.

Both of these cards also have a great price / performance ratio, so no issues there.

Many people would claim that AMD cards will perform well for longer, having some older amd cards still keeping up today. I can't comment on if that's true or not since I haven't really owned many amd gpu's.

I can't see a clear winner between the two right now, so I'd just go with whichever one you were initially leaning towards. If I were to choose one right now, it would probably be the rx 480, but that's only because I'd like to get some more experience with amd cards.

Also to note, if your able to wait AMD is releasing VEGA in 1Q 2017, so expect to see some price drops as people start offloading stock, may be worth waiting, but this is all based on techie rumour regarding VEGA release.
