thanks for the help!

I would recommend upgrading your GPU to a GTX 970, great card for the money.

For your CPU you can upgrade to 1150 sockets such as 4690k

If you want the newer chips ie Skylake i5 6600k you would need a new motherboard that supports socket 1151

All comes down to your budget really.

P.S What PSU & Motherboard do you have?

You recommend any motherboards that would suite the Skylake i5 6600k?

All depends on budget, what features you want with the mobo, do you want support for DDR4 ram?

If you are looking for a mobo out of the box good features and don't plan on overclocking, staying with DDR3 ram

Intel i5 6600 + Asus H170-PLUS Motherboard

Want the best features, will overclock and has ddr4 support

Intel i5 6600k + Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard

@Zeitois the best person to talk to about recommendations for computer parts. Hopeful he can give some tips like he did for me.

I would jump to 16GB of RAM, and upgrade to a GTX970, or 980 if you can afford it. CPU is fine, the 4xxx series of intel CPUs are still extremely capable - i use a 4790k myself. If you were dead-set on upgrading CPU, i'd recommend any i5-4xxxK, however you wouldn't gain too much besides the ability to overclock.

And get a good SSD if you dont have one already. It'll change your world.

Is Arma installed on the SSD or the HDD? I'm guessing the HDD. If so, consider getting a larger SSD and installing Arma on to that, with all the reading it does for texture loading etc. you'll notice some smoother running in the game.

  • 500+GB SSD
  • 16GB RAM
  • nVidia GTX970 or higher.

You're probably ok on the power front, though i wouldnt be thinking of anything like SLI without upgrading the PSU also.

Ideally you want a PSU that is 80+ bronze/silver/gold/platinum certified, preferably 80+Gold/platinum as they're more efficient and generally less likely to blow.

Okay, will keep this in mind when doing research and what not!
