My mic won't work please help !!!

Hi I've literally just got onto the game and I've been trying to get help with my mic (sorry for the lack of role play) my microphone is flickering as if I'm chatting but it's just not on I've configured my setting plugged my mic in and out but there is just no sound coming out of the head set please help me if you can thanks

Is your mic set to the default mic in windows and steam settings?

Does it work on other games?

As asked - does your mic work in other applications? Does it work on Skype/Teamspeak?

Is your Mic/VON volume in Arma 3 turned up to the max?

Make sure its set to default in windows, You can also click it and select listen to my device on the properties. This will allow you to listen to your self. Change USB ports if its USB powered. Check your drives in device manager.
