I'm sorry. I missed everything from the roller coaster point onwards...

In honesty, wish I could help... but I don't use Mac.... closest thing I have is my iPhone...

If you do find a fix, might be worth blogging it or something as it could help others in the future.

Was waiting for this video. Wish I could help but in code i'm useless.

ps i want a server now

@Ciaran had made a very good point of me login in as root and mounting the whole system could cause this issue. I'm gonna make a new mounting point tomorrow and see how it goes.

I suggest changing the config file to look at the mount point not the root.

That should fix it for you.

@Unlucky George when you were logging in over SSH, you said you had to enter that IP in a lot... You know you can bookmark/save it right? ;3

You could fit a decent amount of porn on 16TB
16 Tb is good, but how about this little baby? My pride and joy at the office ;)  Approx 46TB of direct-attached storage, then ~ 247TB of Tape based storage.

How I feel right now.

What's with all the space, what are you storing?
It's a the server that runs and processes the backups for our servers at work, it backs up sql databases, development environments, mailservers, it infrastructure, user home dirs, all sorts of stuff.

That is true, But it would make a hell of a youtube video !!

Your current raid array is good for now but if you have the money i would invest in a Raid 5 or 6 array but it might be overkill for a home user :p

A Pegasus R6 18TB array makes me drool  :D
