Muting group chat

Is there a way to mute group/gang chat or at least just turn the volume down a tad. Cause i was talking to Caitlin the hat seller yesterday and couldn't hear a damn thing she was saying cause people in my group blasting my ear drums. I spend most of my time on arma with my group so I don't wanna leave.

yeah you need to look in the audio settings, then turn the VON down, but keep in mind. 
this will also turn the vehicle channel down

Have you considered using the RPUK TeamSpeak (ts.roleplay.co.uk) That way comms would be on TS and not Via Group Chat, you can mute TS with a hit of a key if you set it up correctly.
