Monitor the map in the server

Surely there's some way to block that? We had it blocked on my old Arma 2 server.

To ANY admins, forums admins. I deleted the messages after taking the screenshot to get this into attention. I useelly cleaning the map after every server restart. This screenshot where taken after the 16 restart

This happends after after restart really, but anyway still not acceptable.

We will look into removing this feature as its clear some brainless idiots abuse it.

Yeah, I'm one of the 'faggots' who remove these. (someone actualy had the audacity to put a marker saying 'stop getting rid of em you faggots')...

I thought I was the only one spamming delete once the server had restarted and we were all stuck on the map. (good to know I'm not the only one!)

@Wilco,

Will this just the complete removal of map markers on the whole server? or just during loading?

As map markers are pretty damned useful, especially for the police and it would be a shame to lose them completely just because of a few bad apples.

I wonder if there is a way that we can make the notes be tagged (either visibly or not) with the user name or ID? Or make the map go through a self-clean routine? Or block certain kwywords? Will discuss this with Ciaran when he is free.

@TinyBigJacko

I would think that tagging it with the UID will do best simply because they can't change it as easily as they can with their usernames.

Perhaps <UID>(Playername):<Message>

Then also auto-clean it while the server is done setting up ;)

I support the idea of removing them on waiting screen, but as Ash said, the markers are very important for Police/NHS. So please dont remove them completly.

People messing with the map has been a problem since OFP:Resistance because BI never put anything in place to log map marker. I remember over 10 years ago the same stuff happening, and BI just never saw it as a big deal.
