Money, such a big part of altislife, but for some people it all about money. This is not going to be a rant but more of me sharing my point of view. So as a guy who has been on this server for around 9 - 10 months i have come across a lot of people with different point of views, some i agree with some i can not stand. I have seen the server go through alot of good times, but sadly some bad ones to And even though the server is getting back on track i see another problem arising and that is greed. You can not stop people being greedy, its part of nature and all you can do is try to get people to see your point of view and hope they take something good from it and change. The core purpose of Altislife.co.uk is Role-play, i also understand money is a big aspect to but for some people money comes first, people seem to target the week and strong and give there minimal RP just for a few Virtual coins and is it worth it? Really is it? Wouldnt you rather spend 15 Minuets talking and having amazing RP than spend 2 minuets saying the same crap over and over again then shooting the man or women in the face, and the thing is its nearly borderline banable. So please people of altis Remember we can not all be perfect or amazing RP'ers i can tell you know im Rubbish! but i can also tell you i try! so please remember its a game, a good game, a game we are all here to enjoy and to roleplay but mainly have fun!

It's nothing to do with the money most of the time, if people were greedy and just wanted money, they'd do nothing but drug runs all the time.

For most of the people who rob people, or hold them up, its about winning... they just want to win, to be the guy with the power over someone and ruin their day... which sadly, if even worse than just being greedy.

It's a power thing, which is nothing new to online gaming, in fact it's probably the single most common thing out there in the gaming world.

and if People find it fun to rob? Is that looking for power? Played here for a while I have rollplayed a lot but at the moment i find robbing fun. (But I still rollplay with them)

I think you need to think about it from another perspective (sometimes). I'm not saying there aren't people who run around kidnapping hobos or RDM'ing people in the green zone - but for a lot of us it's just FUN to ROLEPLAY the rebel, given the opportunity 90% of the time if the player being robbed is compliant and willing to RP with us we will RP back, and try to make it a fun experience for them; and then when we're done we leave them with more than we take. 

Today, as a guild we robbed two people at the weed processor, we planned on taking an inventory full and leaving them be so we can run off and go about our business, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, we TRIED to make the RP fun but the two people there didn't listen to a word we said, not valuing their lives.. "Oh, no I'm not going to drop my bag for you" "But we just want to make sure you aren't carrying weapons" .. "No, I'm not doing anything for you why should I". Now to me that's not good roleplay, nor is it valuing your life and at the end of the day if you aren't going to interact or try to roleplay back with us then there really is no point in us trying and may as well just execute you there and then.

I hope what I'm trying to say is getting across here and I don't just sound like a hobo killer, haha, because I'm very much against that way of playing. Also, I didn't mean to write this much I'm sorry, please give it a read and discuss with me!

There is to much money on the server any way. Money is now just a visual toy for most people.

You can role play robberies, you can make them more interesting for people. 

But if you read the original post, you'll see that he's talking about people who always do minimal role play.

I've robbed plenty of people, but I've always tried to make it even remotely interesting to the people being robbed, not just the usual "get out or die, put your hands up or die". I actually spend time talking to the people, explaining why I'm robbing them, actually role playing a little it.

The problem here isn't the robberies themselves, its the lack of role play of the people doing the robbing.

That's my issue here, I wouldn't mind a robbery if people actually didn't do just the bare minimum to stop themselves getting banned and thats it.
