Good evening chaps, spectacular mission last week, niko had his engineers go over the aircraft we liberated and they said it's almost in mint condition, there was some rusting along the wing but it's unlikely to break off in flight with that amount of rust. I will look into getting that fixed soon.
This week we are going to the island of stratis, the new altis government was so impressed with our work last week they are asking us to sort another issue out.
A bit of backstory on this, up until earlier this year Stratis was being held under isis control, in a large scale British operation these forces were removed and control was handed over to the New altis government. One week later rebel forces entered the island and seized control.
The rebels on the island have been pretty quiet and have not posed a threat, until now. Radar picked up five fast movers heading towards the island yesterday, an Altian jet moved into the area to observe and identify the threat. At 1434 contact with the friendly jet was lost, the pilot managed to say the words “deploying countermeasures”. Its unknown if the pilot survived.
Satellite imagery has shown they have radar up and available, the aircraft have been located on the airfield and a significant rebel presence has been identified.
There are several problems that face us with this operation, we aren't sure how operational the jets are, however we know they can fly, so we can’t risk the rebels getting spooked and getting them to take off. We also can't get air support of any kind.
We will enter the island by boat at night, our task will be to knock out the supporting base near the main airfield and destroy the radar system, under the cover of darkness we will move into the airfield place explosives on all the aircraft and destroy them simultaneously. From there we will go loud, recapture the airfield and then retake Agia Marina.
I'm meeting with a guy today to pick us up some weapons to use on the operation, i'm not sure what he has, he said he has NVGs in stock so I will pick some of them up too. Let me know if you have any weapon preferences.
