Middle Mouse Button

Hi all,
My middle mouse button as suddenly failed unexpectedly. If I click it and move it up / down then it is fine, but scolling doesn't work at all. It just stays still and doesn't do anything.

Any firmware updates or what not?

I had no clue; have you tried blowing into it/ using compressed air?
