Microphone Plugged in but Disabled in Teamspeak

Hi,
I have got my new mic (finally) and I plug it into Teamspeak, I can hear sound perfectly however it says my Microphone is disabled in Teamspeak, even though it is plugged in, and dosen't give me an option to enable it.

This is probably a really easy fix! Thanks for the help, RPUK!

is it set an the input device in teamspeak? Does it work in any other applications?

Go on settings, recording or something along those lines. You will see mic settings and change default mic. Also if that doesn't work, right click on the sound icon in bottom right of Windows, then recording or something along those lines and make your mic default and disable the rest.

Well, I have another issue. I have 2 holes (Don't know what the proper names are). One on the left represents a microphone, I think. And the one on the right represents headphones. If I plug it into the microphone, I can't hear any sound but I can do a voice test (pointless) and if I plug it into the headphones, I can hear things but it still says my mic is disabled. I have deleted my old headphones and replaced it with these.

Sounds like the app that controls and detects what's plugged in is set up wrongly. Are you using the 3.5mm points on the rear?

Headphones/speakers should be in the green port on rear, mic should be in peach/pink. Usually there are green/Blue/pink on the bottom row. Then there may be 3 more inputs above them, ignore those as they are for surround sound.

What sort of mic do you have?

No, I only have the Black ones.
Interesting. The 3.5mm one is a 'headset' jack, sort of like you'd get on your phone, or laptops. It does the mic and headphones in one socket. Majority of PCs dont have an all-in-one jack on them. What is the exact make and model of the headset, does the usb cable come from a box, or from the headset itself - are any associated drivers installed etc.
