Microphone and Graphic failures, anyone who would care to help a little?

Hello there!

I've been having a few issues with my computer over the past month or two. I bought my computer a little over a year ago(Custom made), and recently it has been starting to do some weird things.
It started with; Shadowplay....  sometimes it saves the recordings in a graphic mess... But sometimes it don't. - A preview of how it looks; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h6XH6-BlF0&feature=youtu.be
First i tried to delete a shit ton of videos, too see if it was the space, that could be the problem. But no, still it continued. I then made the temporary files to save on my SSD, since i thought my HDD couldn't handle it. But no, still after saving the temporary files on the SSD and the actual files on the HDD it still messes up.  (My Arma is running on my SSD, in case that is helpful).

I then ran into another problem...
Every time i  log into Altislife.co.uk, there is no problems, but after a while playing in game on Altis, my Microphone suddenly stops working. And it is sadly every time i get arrested, that my mic bugs out, which annoys me so freaking much. ( Might just be when i click on the Caps Lock a lot) I have a suspicion that it has something to do with the game audio and my windows audio. I'm using Teamspeak meanwhile i'm playing, and maybe my computer is having a hard time swapping from windows audio to in game audio, and then it suddenly decides to wipe all the sound through my mic, but not my headphones? Like... i can see under my devices that i have a mic enabled, but it doesn't "light up" when i'm speaking. It is just completely DEAD. And the only thing that fixes it, is a computer reboot. AND the funny thing is, every time this error happens, my reboot gets stuck on "Shutting down" so i have to manually push the button, but it can restart on 5 sec, if i didn't have this error before.

Something is up.. and it is very weird. It is affecting my Arma gameplay, obviously my computer & the most annoying thing, all the cops that i have to write sorry to, and explain that something is wrong with my mic, but i don't know what.

I also tried to reinstall my windows 7 Ultimate, but all the issues is still there.

After that didn't work, i thought that it could be my headset. "Turtle Beach PX 22" Which has it's own USB sound card. I then bought another headset which i am using now; "HyperX 2, 7.1 Surround Sound" with it's own USB sounds card as well, but that didn't fix it either.

I am now completely lost, and don't know what to do next, to get my microphone working properly or getting my shadowplay to stop bugging out.

I have pasted a Imgur link below, with a few of my computer specs, let me know if you need anything else, to help me sort this out.

And also the few settings from my device panel: http://imgur.com/a/XCbs7

I Appreciate all the help i can get in here, and everything matters! I know there is many helpful people out there, so finding a guy on this post should be the least of my problems.

Tried to update your ge-force experience? Maybe you're running a beta version of it, if not, try to use the beta version of it. (just to let you know, last time i used the beta version, I couldn't run ANY games at all.)

if that doesn't help, do a clean install of your nvidia drivers.

- With the microphone, I dont really know, try not to tab out of your game, and use the steam overlay or overwolf instead.

Thanks for the quick answer @crazyone

I've always had the regular ge-force experience installed, never used the beta. I am as of now, currently trying the beta out, too see if it helps.

But yes, my ge-force has always been up to date, even before i re-installed my computer and after. I do have my suspicions that it might be the ge-force experience, but i am really not certain it is.

Regarding the microphone.
I don't really tab out of the game when the bug starts to appear, neither do i use steam overlay or overwolf. I rarely use those. I am still using the steam overlay and tapping out of the game as much as i did before the bug started to occur.

I appreciate your answer a lot! And it is surely in the right directions!

It is to be found out, if the beta ge-force will solve it or not.

Tho, i still need a few more hands on the microphone situation!

You can always try Nvidias forums, and ask for help there, if the beta doesn't help.

Unfortunatly I don't know much about the microphone issue you're having, I dont think it will help, but doesn't hurt to try.

On this picture, your realtek digital output is set as default communications device, try and disable it?

I personally use a dedicated microphone, but never experienced any problems with my microphone ingame.

But if it doesn't work, good luck trying to make it work :)

Alrigty bud!

Yea, i will give it a few days with the beta ge-force experience and if it doesn't work i will try get some help on the Nvidia forums :)

Thanks a lot!

Yea well, i don't think that has any effect on my microphone, but as you said, it doesn't hurt to try. So i have as for now, disabled the Realtek XXX, and are now also testing that!

Again, Thanks a lot for your time!

(If anyone else have something to add, feel free to comment! Everything will help my course to achieve better gameplay and roleplay! With an actual working mic 24/7!)

If all else fails, are you able to update to Windows 10. Losing sound via USB headset and Game capture via GPU at the same time (did both issues start at the same time?) could be something going wrong in the OS.

Hey @Rossss!

Yes i actual have a webcam attached through a USB(With an inbuilt mic), but never really used it, it just fell down behind the screen one day, and never bothered to pick it up.

Now that you are saying it. i Actually think all thees messy bugs might have started to appear when i attached the webcam USB to my computer, it is definitely worth a try!

Tho i am curious to ask, how come you think it could be my webcam? - Like it make sense for me now, that another audio source could be the reason for the mistake, but i would've never thought of my webcam.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Hello @Unlucky George!

Yes, i would be able to update to Windows 10 if needed. Though i have always been very skeptimistic about windows updates, never really updated unless the update worked 100% properly.

I am not 100% sure, but they might have started at the same time. It could be, that i had taken a break for Arma in that month, and didn't realize the issue with my mic. So yes, the two bugs COULD actually have started the same day. BUT the thing is, even before and after i re-installed my OS it didn't fix any of the problems. So i have my doubts that the OS could be the issue. But as i said many times before, it's always worth a try!

I would also like to say thank you very much to you George.

It is always a pleasure to see so many kind people helping out!

I had problems with GeForce Experience blocking my mic in all the games on the new beta, TS and skype still work because they have their own codecs.

All you need to do is Disable the sharing, you don't need to uninstall.

@Mr. Cardoso

Yea they really are different sources, and that is why it is very weird, that all my sound through my mic is completely dead on the whole computer.
This must mean that the GeForce Experience hasn't got anything to do with the Mic problem. If i am correct.

Though you are saying that  @crazyonehave to disable the "Share" in the beta version of NVIDIA GeForce Experience, but isn't that the "ShadowPlay " Just with a new name?
Maybe he still wants to be able to use the shadowplay for my his game recordings.

- Just my 5 cents

Oh and yea @crazyone
With the new Beta it seems like I'm having a difficult time managing the recordings. Can't really get it to work. If this "Share" is to be the old Shadowplay i can't get it to work. So i think I'm going to "uninstall" as well, because i really need that Shadowplay.

@Brad MillerI wasn't suggesting that your USB webcam is causing the issues, I was suggesting you use that instead of your normal mic. It really doesn't make any logical sense to do so but it has fixed several issues for me :)

Ohh.. haha well, i ain't gonna use the mic from my 5£ Web Cam :S But if that solved many issues for you, that is nice man!
But removing the webcam, with the audio source would actually make sense, if that was causing some problems. Because it is after all 10 years old.

@Brad Miller it was just a shot in the dark really, I had lots of trouble with the last beta driver I installed, so I was quick to get rid of it. But it's probably something completly different then.

Hope you figure it out soon though!

@crazyone

Ahh i see, well it is not only you who have trouble with the beta edition.

I tried installing it myself, and there was this new tool called "Share" which is most likely to be the same as "ShadowPlay" but just a different layout and you actually have a whole overlay for it, when you press Alt + Z, but the thing is, the "Recording back in time" didn't really work for me. So i uninstalled the NVIDIA GeForce Experience (BETA) and installed the regular one again.

Sadly, i'm most likely at step 1 again :/
But who knows, maybe it helped that i reinstalled it and/or took out my old webcam from the computer.
I guess, only time will show that, from now.
Ofc unless, someone else with a lot of driver/microphone experience shows up and tells me the exactly mistake i probably might have made.

Thanks for all your help so far guys :)

Kind Regards
