nah, like Ed said to me and wilco yesterday if it was a missile it would have broken up into pieces and rained down but if you look at the crash site the remains are all grouped up.

 
Recent reports say half the plane did break up. 777's are pretty big compared to fighter jets/helicopters and the fuel tanks are mostly in the wings.

It has happend before that a smaller air missile has been shot at aircrafts and hit smaller objects like the engines and so on. If it was used, i think it hitted a part of the wing, or close to the cockpit, forcing it down in a hurry. At least it happend quick, since the pilot didnt call in an emergency. Also, a pro-russian squad tweeted like 4-5 minutes(ish) after it went away from the radar, (http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/mh17/#3d6095b) that they had shot down an AN-25 (ukrain transportplane thing)

Correct, 777 is huge compared to the most used 737.

Also picutres show that the part from and behind the wings has been under a fire, while the part in front of the wings doesnt seems like it has been under a fire. Could easily been splitted right there.

Day prior a reportedly Russian fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian fighter jet. They however suspect a Russian made Buk Launcher shot down the aircraft. Both sides are finger pointing at the moment. This is an international incident and due to the inherent politics the war could escalate. Ukrainians are hoping for further sanctions and aid in the region and Russian Seperatists are hoping for Russian military intervention.
