what kind of authority/powers does the mayor have? i have seen mayor electorial (if that is even a word) posts in which they promise to make ex. weed legal. Just wondering if they can do that or if being a mayor is just for fun rp

Well technically in terms of "powers" there isn't really many.. when you become Mayor you become let's say a celebrity! "Oh, hey! there's the mayor" you will be distinguished by a pink suit in which only you can wear and a lovely black SUV in which you can ride around in. You will get high priority treatment via the Police as long as during your mayor term you are not corrupt and abide by the law of Altis. You may propose to change/create/remove laws to the command of Police. Also in the event that you are taken hostage you will be a high value target in terms of roleplay and should remain cautious at all times as the rebels of Altis will attempt to take you. But at the end of the day being Mayor is what you make of it and becoming Mayor is not easy.
