I used to worry whenever I heard about  mass shootings in the US. I used to feel sorrow and grief in my heart. I used to believe these were occurances would not happen again and changes would be made... But not anymore. Killing in the US is happening so often that it has become mundane to me. I no longer feel any strong emotions when I hear about shootings in the US. The thought that comes to my mind is "Oh, so it happened again?" It is not only in the US only. Things like these have become too mundane, too common in the world. There's been so many tragedies like this have happened in the recent decade, too many to keep track of. The reactions are not as strong as they used to be. People around the world have slowly started to accept things like terrorism and mass shootings. I am not saying people don't care, but they don't care like they used to do. People are still scared and some scared to even go outside. I was on Quora the other day, where I read an American child asking how to avoid going to school. Now it wasn't that this child was lazy, but he explained that he was too scared to go to school. He was scared of becoming a statistic like everyone else in a mass shooting. I was baffled when I read the question. I couldn't believe that the US was a country where its children were too scared to go to school because of school shootings! I have never experienced anything even close to that in Denmark, and it made me realise how lucky I am to live in a country where we are all mostly safe.

I don't know if I am a sociopath for not feeling anything when I heard about the school shooting in the US, or maybe because it's become too mundane... I don't know.

This was just something that I felt I needed to get off my chest. I would love to hear what you guys think of this whole thing that happening in the world.

For anyone wondering. Quora is a forum where people from around the world ask and answer questions.

I completely understand you, these days so many bad things happen around the world that we got used to bad news how horrible it may sound. As long we are not influenced by the problem we simply don't care anymore is it bad? No, as we all got our issues in life and we have all learned to accept and adapt. In the past, this sort of issues occurred less. So the older generation is more affected by these issues because its unusual to them and different. Me being 14 and growing up only hearing bad things around the world happening I simply got used to it.

The day after it happened our teachers had a chat with us on our opinions which we had noted and sent to our local superintendent for the district. In the us we're literally so used to it it disgusts me. Florida happened and it was barely reacted to. The students there are protesting and to be honest they should. We want to be safe and we're not. We're all to used to it and we really shouldn't be. I'm awaiting his court trial as I need to see how the hell and why the fuck this happebed
