Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to share a couple of pictures and my 50 cents on this community.
I feel new to this whole RP gaming thing, it is very fun for me; I'm a bit older than a lot of people here, and while I have a childhood with computers and gaming, my idea of roleplay is 5 guys in a basement with dices vivid imaginations. Which btw can be very fun. I had never played arma, and stumbled upon this site by chance, bought arma just to test out this RP thing and I fell totally in love with the idea. Being a grown up and all that, I don't have all the time in the world to play, but I cherish the hours I get to play, and love following "life on altis" via the forums whenever I get a chance.
I as well read the news about Manchester, in horror. I have some experience in this field as I was a part of the first responders to the Norwegian terror attack in 2011. I won't go into detail about that, but what caught me, and ultimately led to me quitting law enforcement was the response of the people, the city, and the country.
Politics does not matter when you are in the middle of it, it does not matter if the perpetrator is from this or this culture or religion. Nothing seems to matter other than the fact that you feel like somebody punched you in the gut when it's close to your home, in your country, in YOUR f**** city, and as I know is the case for some here, to friends or family. Some said they felt it was a bit disrespectful to have a minute silence within a game, I strongly disagree.
For me, the fact that RPUK organized something like this shows me that this community is a great one. I have to say I'm amazed at the level of maturity and in general community-atmosphere that all you guys have created. I'm also so happy to see the things you all seem to agree on, regarding what kind of language or attitudes you don't accept, it is wonderful to see so much young people showing how to have fun in a great way.
I humbly thank you for welcoming me as well.
