lost weapon after restart

Quick description of what happened: We did as the cops tell us, leave our weapons outside of the city, and then 15-10 minutes before restart we returned and got our weapons, but after the restart they were gone..

Where did you leave your weapons, just out of curiosity? In a vehicle, on the floor, or with another player? Reason I ask is because leaving a weapon ON THE FLOOR, unattended is NOT SAFE. There is a cleanup script that rolls around every 10 minutes (give or take a few) which will DELETE all weapons idling around on the floor!

Some of the cops still aren't aware of this (despite us informing their superior officers - I guess that's 'chain of command' for you - lol).

Anyway, assuming you were lucky enough to have retrieved your weapon before it got culled, it would still only have been in your 'local' gear-collection.

If - during the time you DID NOT have the weapon - you synced (or auto-synced) then your weapon-set would've been set 'clean' (without it).

If you then picked up the weapon and did not sync (manual or auto), and the server session ended (or you died or disconnected), then it would NOT have been saved back to the database. That is by design - if the sync happened every time you touched a weapon or changed state, the DB would be flooded with calls constantly, and the server would choke - so the auto-syncs are set to (roughly) every 10 mins, and the manual syncs are limited to 5-minute minimum gaps at best.

If in doubt, always try a manual sync after changing state (i.e. picking up good gear or whatever).

Let us know what you did - I'll decide what to do thereafter.

(lol) as said we got our weapons before restart, but because of the problems with sync at that time we lost them (and because it's ages ago, i can't remember if we manually synced). - i don't feel like i need anything now, so just close this thread

I've had similar, the "1 minute" warning before restart isn't helpful if syncing takes 60 seconds manually.....
