So, apparently this is a thing. Apparently it's been tested at 228Gbps, which is crazy.

First time I heard of it, hopefully it will form into something even crazierThey showed this 4 years ago on a TED conference.. this is nothing compared to all the stuff already researched in big end companies but it's definitely a good one.
This probably was being worked on about 6/8 years ago, which means the technology we see being released, is at least 2-5 years old between researching, testing and quality control.
Although today you get stuff coming even faster due to all the technology.
This makes for a more secure connection, light can't penetrate wallsThey were working on this back in the 80's
But Tbh it's just fibre without the glass, and kind of pointless as well. Only use indoors and at night. And there is no way I'm getting rid of my switched traffic, let's avoid traffic hubs.
This always cracks me upLight cant penetrate a lot of things though. The technology has existed in various forms and spectrums for a while, such as Infrared, Microwave etc. 'LiFi' is just a different wavelength.
I use Ethernet over Power adapters They generally work very well, i can't imagine there's a lot of CB radio traffic either. There are bigger power bursts than those though that cause interference. My fridge often surges when the compressor kicks in, and whites out the tv some times. My light fittings also occasionally just blow/trip out. Ahhhh quality construction.A: Most rooms have windows.
B: the connection to the lightbulb is vulnerable to outside sources, power fluctuations running over cable act as a massive antenna, hence why cb radio operators hate the Ethernet over power adapters
This always cracks me up

I use them to when I have to, Still rather lay down shielded cable, but when not possible EOP > Wireless. but you would be surprised how much CB traffic there is.I use Ethernet over Power adapters They generally work very well, i can't imagine there's a lot of CB radio traffic either. My first car, a 1998 fiesta has a really poorly grounded interference supressor in the radio, so if you put it on AM freq and tuned into just static noise, the interference would be modulated by the flywheel/crank/pistons and it sounded like a bloody 2-stroke scooter was trapped in the radio. Beezer.
I remember talking about that photonic effect in work at the time with my boss.
Renter's Paradise! Not my problem, nor responsibility to sort out the wiring, it's also why I cant lay down any cabling of my own or I'd spend the weekend with a reel, trunking, and faceplates galore! Wireless is all well and good, but it's hard to beat a good cable connectionI use them to when I have to, Still rather lay down shielded cable, but when not possible EOP > Wireless. but you would be surprised how much CB traffic there is.
Wow you need to get yourself a couple of regulators built into your circuit, you rent or own ?
Is it not the plugs that cause the most interference? I run a 2CV that does not seem to cause issues (internally I get buzz off the alternator, but I haven't yet sorted out the capacitor for the stereo its on the bare circuit !! )
Even renters have rights to make changes to the space they live in. Don't think your not allowed to change anything, what they say you can do in the contract is not always what you are entitled to do by law.Renter's Paradise! It maybe depends on the type of plug, I'd imagine there's some interference from whatever electronic magic stops it from sending 240V to your network card, i'd like to think the pass-through type emit less interference but they probably dont. Wow a 2CV? Do you do it without an AA membership?
Oh I know, but there's nothing I'd want to change, it's only ever 12 months though i envision being there longer term. My rental agreement says I'm not allowed to use a vaccum cleaner... But the stairs, hall, and bedrooms are all carpet? Ignored that one. Oh and no more than 2 people who dont live there are allowed round, or it's deemed a 'social gathering'. Some of it is such crap.Even renters have rights to make changes to the space they live in. Hell our contract states I cannot run a company from home, that is exactly what I was doing when I moved in and they have no legal right to stop me
The interference caused by the adapter is due to it oscillating power at a certain frequency over a long length of cable, which basically acts as a massive antenna. They could reduce power to a point where it no longer created major issues, but it means less speed and reliability, it's worth having a read up on as ofcom can't do shit about it and won't, yes I know I'm not making things better by advocating their use over wireless. Sorry.
Yeah love my 2cv, i even got it widened when the third kid was on the way you can think of me as stubborn.
But it is a great car to drive, have very recently taken it off the road to give it some love, got a merc to goto work now is wierd to drive.
