I go into town today and within minutes a very polite police patrol stops me. The officer explains that my vehicle plates have a warrant for a failure to stop and a robbery against them.

Being an honest cider maker I explained that it was not me. He believed me and issued a small fine to clear my vehicle.
 
Is this part of the RP. In other words is it normal to show up as a bad guy when you are not, or has someone had to use my vehicle?
 
If I get car jacked, after I use my phone to tell the police should I go to the police station next time in town and ask them to see if I have any warrants against me.

If you own the car and you commit the crime then it would come up on the police Pnc and then they would stop you for that

but if someone steals your car and they commit a crime it will come up on any cars that they own on their pnc profile same thing if you use someone elses car

The crime of faliure to stop has to be manually out on so mabye someone stole your car and didn't stop for the police when  they were speeding or something

if your car gets stolen then send a message to the police so  if it is caught up in a crime  it will not get scrapped

The crime as mentioned "failure to stop" is a crime that is required to be directly added by a police officer as it not automated, unlike robberies of fuel stations. I'm unsure what crime "a robbery against them" is but as mentioned previously its most likely a crime added by a police officer.   If in your case your vehicle is stolen, yes you are required to report it stolen as if it is used in crime then an officer investigating the crime has every right to scrap the vehicle as makes the true owner look suspicious i.e You. 

So the answer to your question, yes it is completely normal for someone to have a warrant out for their arrest if their vehicle is used in crime and not reported stolen.

That makes sense to an old coffin dodger, my car was taken so now I will always report it stolen. Thanks!
