Ladies and gentlemen of Altis, help needed.

I have been searching Altis library but had no luck, so please would a kind soul help a new citizen out.
 
I am trying to be a law abiding worker but bought a rifle for better protection then a pistol. Will the police leave me if I have the weapon lowered or over my shoulder, if not how do I hide it ?
 
1. Can I store a marksman's Rifle in the boot of my car , 
will it be there next server restart.
 
2. After reading the community site I thought I could hide my marksman's rifle in my backpack, but I can not. Is this due to the size of weapon? I have a carry all backpack.
 
3. Having just bought a marksman's rifle I am now unable to switch to my pistol.  I know I will be missing something really simple but if someone could tell an old coffin dodger how to do this I would be grateful.
 
I found by trial and error that F draws the rifle and the usual use of  Ctrl +H ,  shift + H shoulders and draws it but I can not get my pistol now.

If police see anything but a pistol on you, you risk them taking it.

1) You can but you'll need to take it out before restart/ storing the car or it won't be there after you pull the car back out

2) Yes only rifles of certain size can fit in a backpack
