Just a little question if Lets say a person wants to join the police force and he is 15 years old but his birthday is on the 6th of june. And i know that if you're Under 16 you can still join but through that Under 16 form . Back to the 15 year old, would the police still put him in the Under 16  limit or will this person be exception bc that person enlisting will be 16 in 2 weeks

Thanks for reading

Miller

I believe the process for under age recruits has been abolished. You should be able to apply if you are under 16 with no issues.

The young recruit system has been scrapped recently.  Any ages are being accepted to the police.  Just be sure the applications are good :)

@SGT Owen so i thought it had been abolished but could i ask why? :p  Either we were really desperate for recruits or the trust has gone up.

Not entirely sure why, but from what I've seen recently the quality of 'young recruits' has been very high.

They're going through the same application and training system as everyone else, so I guess if they're good enough for that, they're good enough to be allowed in the police.

I made quite a big push for it in the police forums, and I'm happy command accepted it. In Academy doing a hell of a lot of training sessions, I've seen no difference in maturity levels or competence in those training sessions, and likewise the young recruits we have such as @Fergussand others are very good officers, so I see no reason to discriminate. If there is somebody with an unacceptable level of maturity, regardless of their actual age, we in Academy are far better placed to judge it than the ride-along system could possibly offer, so it gives everyone a chance to prove themselves rather than be judged by a third party without much accountability.

I guess it sounds fair, and if it works then go for it.

From what @DSGT Vafflasaid, any age can apply, as long as you are mature and show a good understanding of Server rules then you will have no issues.

Thing from me for any young people under the age of 16:  I was only aiming to join the Police to show to people that younger people have the same ability as older. And look where I am now.. SPC in the Police and proud to be it. And a thing for all you people out there who are questioning this post and / or me about 'This is pathetic. Young children are so shite at it. They can't even roleplay properly! I bet they will be banned in a few days.' Well, a thing to you. ANYONE CAN JOIN. WE ARE ALL AT THE SAME LEARNING ABILITY AND CAN DO THINGS EQUALLY. I know some people who are SGT's and SPC's who are a couple of years older than me in the Police, but under 16. And by the way, I know that I am the youngest person in the Police (13). I don't care.. Roleplay is what cares. A quote from me:

'Age is just numbers which means nothing'. SPC Fergus.
Sorry for bad language, just had to point it out!

I will be applying in the next couple of days as I have prom and 1 more exam to go

During my time on this server the quality of younger players i have bumped into has been really positive and they have provided good role play. It just comes down to maturity. I have seen a lot of 15 year olds that were more mature than some 30 year olds.

Like SGT Owen said, just make sure you put in a good effort into your application and there will be no issues at all

Best of luck on your exams and application!

Thanks guys, just one more to go anyway and then i am finally done from all the stress

All younger recruits are likely to work harder since they have something to prove - that you can be mature enough and capable enough at whatever age.

You say that but some applications that come in from people who are 15 you would think would be better. That being said i have seen apps from 20+ who cant even spell yet alone understand what 'Please provide a Roleplay background with your Roleplay Name and story of how you got to Altis.'

Means, as said by everyone else, put your mind to it, put in a good app, work hard in your training and PA and you will get far.

tl;dr - it's not about age, it's about maturity.

I was simply saying to Sir Tuna that just because some people younger doesn't mean they will work harder, hence talking about apps....
