So my dears, as you’re all aware, we were being DDOS’d, had quite a few mischievous people on Teamspeak, and of course needed to keep the house clean. We also moved to our new TeamSpeak, and lots of permissions needed to be given out. So for all this, we quickly created a TS Moderator role, as seen by this post

Now things have settled down, we’re able to do things a bit more formally. I’d like to thank each of the moderators for the amount of work they put in over the last few days, and moving forwards we’d like to take applications for its replacement position, Community Mentors.

This role will be placed under my direction as Community Representative. Mentors will be expected to help new players find their feet in game, and be available to resolve minor in-game disputes.

For fairness we will be starting from scratch, so those who are currently in the role should re-apply if they wish. As always the application is open to everyone, however we will be looking for certain qualities.

Individuals should:

  • Have a good working knowledge of the game, it's mechanics, and bugs
  • Be friendly, helpful, and patient
  • Be regularly available on Teamspeak
  • Be of a mature disposition
If this doesn't sound like you, no problem, immerse yourself in Altis and apply next time round.

This is a wonderful addition to the community and I can see it being put to great use! New players will be able to learn the ropes much quicker and avoid making silly mistakes :)

I have a question; if you applied for teamspeak moderator is your application still valid for the mentor position? @

I believe the application is the same. Its just the name that has changed.

 
All previously accepted applications under the "Teamspeak Moderator" will be accepted.

Please try to include your playerID too.

Don't worry, if it's not in there, we can find them, just makes life easier....

 
I take it that the decision will be made and announced on Friday? May I ask, is it the full admin board who are helping with the selection and how many people are you looking to take on?

I cannot answer your first questions but as far as I am aware 10 people will be selected.

 
Full admin team decides, first they will make a top 15, then they will vote.

 
OK so to answer a few questions - applications close Friday night, Admin and myself will convene Saturday night to review them. You may be contacted for an interview, but I'm not 100% on that right now. Player ID would be useful, but if you didn't include it, just keep it handy in case of interview. Finally, we intend on taking on 10 individuals, and I'd like to try and get a decent spread of roles. Any more questions, post here or PM me, I'll do my best to find an answer for you.
