Initiating RP

hw do you know if ur in rp. the only reason I ask this is I'm new to the rp scene I asked a guy about a car and after he reply he stayed still n went really quite so I thought I would knock him out he didn't lose anything and at the time I thought I was in rp where he claims its not good enough so rather than him help me out and kinda explain the better way to do it hes just reporting me. firstly is this fair and secondly he didn't lose anything so do you thing he should stop crying about it I tried to talk to him about it and I read the rules and hes claiming one of the rules is about initiating but I have read the rules several times and cant see the bit hes on about. but I did copy all the rules in reguards to role play to him. and when I asked him to show me the rule either a link or something he refused and just said see you on the forum n ran away like a small child would do when they know there wrong. help in this issue would be greatly received

Everyone should be in RP at all times, it is against the server rules for people to break RP in voice chat. If someone wants to talk out of RP they need to type in // on direct chat and do it that way. So to answer you questions you are always in RP!

right so my RP is obviously of a poor standard of which I'm trying to improve but he couldn't get me banned for that could he ?

If you're new to the server , it could happen ofcourse , hell the amounts of time i broke RP when i was hobo , the best way to see it , is to act like it is real life , sounds weird , but its the best way , so dont talk about lag , bugs etc. since why would you say that in real life?

There are support members on teamspeak (ts.altislife.co.uk) that will help you out with your next RP encounters

thank you I get that but what I mean is I asked this guy about being stuck in middle of no where n if he had a car and then I answered him stated I needed one then ran off turned around ran back and then equipped my weapon n knocked him out he the started crying about how I didn't initiate and so on and tha he was guna report me worst thing is I just realised my shadow play wasn't working but I aint a idiot I did try speak with him n that he was havng non of it cant even get him to talk so nvm if he reports me ill explain

Think of it as real life,

do you generally knock people out when they are a bit quiet?

If you're robbing someone you make it clear beforehand. Give them chance to comply, play with the responses they give you, it is hard and I'm still learning. Nothing can prepare you for the randomness of some of the rp on here, so be prepared to laugh your socks off at a paramedic and have literally no response. Sometimes you just have to forget about being too serious or having an aim/objective.
