Hold your chairs boys (and girls), I am hijacking another posts idea slightly also... This is that the rifles need a reform, more specifically a price adjustment.
In the last week I have been shot at by rebels from hundreds of metres away just for getting out of my car on two occasions. Once when near the truck stop in kavala and the other time near copper trader. Two of the busiest places on the map. When I confront the people to tell them to hold fire I get the standard cop-out precedent excuse of ' it is an active gunfight and you have a gun.'
This may seem like an odd example to use however I have a reason and it has prompted my thoughts. Rifles are for long range combat. Where the operator is removed from the situation at hand, where talking and identification between parties is not really possible [yeah they may have one man on point]. Whether it be in situations I described above, or at an HM raid, or when a gang sets up with a road block to begin an engagement, rifles are the supporting pillar of removed, disconnected, role-play.
I could take half a million pounds. A value that I can make in one hour by legal means... nearly any player can... Then buy enough ammo and rifles to arm nearly the majority of server 2's kavala hobo population at any one time. 18 TRG's plus ammo. Right now this is cheaper than the pistols.
I utterly completely understand we need to be able to buy rifles for the server to have an end game and good amount of RP options. I for one love to have my MXC on my chest, but this is a British colony which has a fully active government, police force and functioning civilization. Why is it that people can buy an illegal rifle for less money than an off-road. We all circle jerk and blab on about realistic situations but come on...!?
Lots of the problems I have read about recently seem to stem from the plethora of assault rifles running around in plain view. i have been here for 2 years, it has gotten worse.
So I propose a significant multiplier (4x?) on the purchase cost of rifles. This will then remove the number of rifles in general population. This will make rebels more careful about where they deploy them. This will bring role-play back to sub 100m pistol range where people can talk and work together better. This will reduce the amount of civilians getting trucks and cars shot away as pistols will be more common but they cannot penetrate. You will be rewarding the people trying to make money legally with RP (and dont tell me this doesn't keep coming up!). Finally it will allow the police to not have to fear so much the people they are there to [protect] role-play with. The police might get to arrest people for s5. OAPA and speeding, or having no lights on and have fun car chases like what I used to do as an SPC, like they used to instead of all being busy on operation at HM!
I know this is going to get hate because of all the people who love to run around with the cheap as chips MK1 or MK14 but cmon guys...work for the rifle, respect the roleplay.
