I got banned

I got banned for "hacking" the game. Checked and realised cheat engine was running in the background (I was hacking minecraft not arma 3!) Sent an appeal yesterday, still no reply!

And you clearly haven't read the Unban Appeal Process.

Here is a clear rule: 

(12.5) Using status updates to talk about or discuss bans will first lead to a warning point then if that continues a second warning point with a 7 day posting restriction.

This isn't a status update but anyway. You must remember, Unban Appeals are the LOWEST priority. The Staff Team have much better things to do like improving the server or helping people. They will get to you eventually.. 

I am sure if you put that in your unban appeal, they might unban you however I do believe Hacking is a Perm Ban. I am not sure. Just be patient, the Staff Team have much better things to do.

Considering the only way it would detect cheat engine is if you had cheat engine inject itself into Arma.exe while it was running something tells me this isnt exactly the case.

Common Sense would tell you that if using status updates to discuss bans is frowned upon,Making Threads concerning it,Especially in a Forum spot intended for "Departures" would also be frowned upon.

Moral of the Story,DOnt attempt to hack games,Play Fairly.

The hacking comment is intended towards the accused Arma Hacking.

Battleye looks for cheat engine running as a program on the user's computer, not as a module running inside of ArmA. So this definitely could be the case. (Battleye also does this with many other programs too)
