Hello! This thread will take you through the best way to get tech support on this sub-forum. There are a few of us who do like to help the community with their tech problems, but a lot of people make it difficult by not providing enough information to us. Hopefully this thread can solve that.
Here are a few things you should ensure to do when creating a topic in here:
Title the thread appropriately.
Naming the thread correctly will allow us to easily see what the problem is and how we can help. It also allows us to search for the thread in future if somebody else happens to have the same issue.
Explain exactly what the issue is.
Be sure to include as much detail as possible. Be it hardware, software or anything else... be sure to explain exactly what the issue is so that we can provide the correct solution for you.
Provide full PC specifications.
Even if it's a software issue, knowing your setup can really help us find a solution. Be sure to include OS and all hardware.
Tell us what steps you have taken to solve the issue.
If you've already been through any troubleshooting or attempts to solve the issue, be sure to tell us. The more information we have the better, and if we can know that a certain solution doesn't work, it helps us narrow down the issue to find the correct solution.
Tag the relevant people.
Although not necessary, tagging some regular helpers will speed up the reply. We sometimes only check this forum a few times a day and can miss a topic sometimes. If we're tagged, we'll be notified as soon as we go on the forums.
Here's a few people you can tag: @lionel @Zeito @CMO Marc Smith
If you don't have a tech issue and are looking for advice on a purchase or PC build instead, make sure to include all of your requirements and an exact budget. If we spend time putting a PC build together for someone who says they don't have a budget and they turn around and say it costs too much or it doesn't meet their requirements, that is very annoying for us. Be sure to provide that information in the first place.
