How to identify players ?

Hi,

I started playing recently and have already had several vehicles of mine stolen in the greenzone and been VDM'd twice which resulted in death. The problem is I notice that the tilde key has been disabled and therefore I can't identify rule breakers before they kill me which means I cannot contact them afterwards nor can I report them.

So my question is: Is there an alternative way to identify rulebreakers such as vehicles thief's and VDM'ers? Thanks

You could use your ingame keychain that's what i do when i'm getting VDM

Unless you have their name before they entered the vehicle, no.

If it's just you and the VDM'r and there's no one else around then you could press 4 (keychain) and see what their name is that way. AFTER they have broken a rule and not before otherwise this would be metagaming and YOU could get in trouble!

So when they're driving towards my car intentionally at 200 kn/h I have to wait till after they smash into me before I can get their name? What if I can't get their name cuz I die and they dont?

It's an Arma thing to have it disabled I do believe, nothing to do with RPUK.

Back when you could tilde key it was banable to do it before the player actually broke a rule was it not? Scroll wheeling on anyone was metagaming and banable hence why you can't keychain before the rule breaker breaks a rule. Think about it.

That's true but im pretty sure if a player is blatantly about to VDM / RDM you getting their name for the almost inevitable report shouldn't be considered 'metagaming'. Still though, you don't have to agree with every rule to respect and follow them so thanks for clearing that up.
