How do i protect myself? (newb)

Hello Roleplay community,

I recently started playing on your servers with a friend and I enjoy the whole Idea of Altis Life.

I have read the rules and the forum quite a bit now but didn't find answers to some of my questions.

 Everywhere i go I am getting robbed, the copper mine, the copper trader, somewhere on the Road, in the middle of citys. What can i do against it? Everytime I packed my truck at some point of the process I am getting robbed. Somehow there are always 4-6 people with automatic guns circling my truck, making me stop and tell me to drop all my stuff and give them my keys or else they will shoot me. I was unarmed twice. Another time i had a handgun(including license). But i can not just shoot them when they tell me that right? I try to initiate RP and ask why they would rob a poor guy who is new in the country but noone cares. But i also don't want to get banned for just shooting them.

Example: My friend and I just bought handguns and then filled our truck with copper ore. We wanted to store the truck in the garage in kavala cause we wanted to log off, so 2 cars get in front and behind us and make us stop, then they take all our stuff. Their are 10 people running by and don't care. My freind decides to hop back in the truck and make a run for it, i get driven over and then just executed by 3 guys while laying on the Road, knocked out with literally nothing on me.

Once we got kidnapped and that was kinda fun, even tho we lost all our stuff aswell.

But the rest is just"Put your hands up or we will shoot you" and if i have my guns drawn at people they don't care. I tell them we are more or this doesn't have to end in a bloodshed, we can all just leave. Is there no way to play abit more like a pacifist?I am really trying to value my life and don't act like i respawn, but these gangs don't care if i would pop one of em with my handgun if they could get my stuff for it. Or do they and I'm just to much of a pu*** because I don't want to be banned for not rping enough?

Am i taking this too serious? Am i allowed to just open fire on them? Because if i don't , how do i protect myself? I havent been able to make any money in 8 hours playtime. (did one apple run).

I called the police on my mobile thing, but they never seem to come. Am i Just unlucky? A car of police officers even crashed into our truck with the robbers standing next to it selling drugs out of it in kavala.(they kidnapped us and set us free in the outskirts of kavala, and we just reached the city by foot when the truck arrived)When we told the Police officer that was our truck and we got robbed they didn't do anything. Do i have to do anything special, like go to the police hq or something?

I hope this doesn't sound stupid. But at the Moment i feel like i should just buy a gun and hold everyone up without reason and take their stuff, cause i don't see a downside to it.

It just doesn't feel good to me, I would like to be just a bit of a truck driver and from time to time have a fight with a gang. But i can't even make money.

Sry this turned out so long.

I'm just really trying to get into this and the differnce betweend the wasteland servers I played all my Arma II and III life ,until now on.

First of all welcome to the community. Unfortunately every member of the community has had to experience the hobo life and what it's like to be robbed 24/7. You can try getting bigger weapons, shoot them when they initiate on you or what I would reccomend to get grips with the server is by joining the cops. You get free gear, great fun (most of the time) and decent money too. You'll learn the rules of the community much quicker and you'll experience more RP along the way. Also a good produce to do without being robbed would be oil. It's decent money and you will rarely get robbed. Hope this answers your questions

You should always value your life. It can be frustrating but you need to. If someone imitates on you and its only 1 or 2 of them feel free to pull out your weapon and have a shootout. I'd recommend this especially if they give you shit rp such as "handsup or die". 

Sending the police is a good start but remember it can take us time to respond so try and delay as much as possible. Try and reason with them and such.  

In the case your truck is stolen, state your name and your vehicle model on the police text thingy and report it stolen.   

Play in a gang, with a gang you have backup as well as the advantage of gang initiation (initiation on you is initiation on all your gang members in the area), so if you are initiated on tell them you have friends in the area and if they continue then just have your friends shoot them to shit. 

Also your questions aren't "stupid". 

We much rather you ask these questions rather than get in trouble.

Pretty much a combo of what Shambala12 and VRambo said.

Safety in numbers is key here and a good gang is the way to go. Not only do you get support with gear / weapons etc, but they'll show you the ropes and you protect each other when doing money making runs.

The other route as Shambala12 has pointed out is to join the Police, or NHS since both provide a decent salary.  I'm not rich, I have around 20 million and every penny of that is police salary.  As a police officer, since you are not able to partake in anything illegal, there's very little to spend your money on other than vehicles, houses etc.

Like you mate, when I first joined the server, I was robbed constantly when I tried to do anything alone or with a friend. I joined the police around one week after joining the server and tbh, I've not looked back.

Lastly, with regards to police response times. I feel your pain, but we are often thinly spread and unable to deal with every call that comes in. You kind of explained why that is yourself. There's a lot of criminals out robbing people constantly, and doing other illegal things and we have to try and respond to.  In an ideal world we'd be able to respond to all dispatches, but because we're so busy, usually by the time we get there, the situation is over.
