How do i join the serveres

okay so i just got the game and im wanting to join the servers but all of them kick me and say i need to whitelist or im not allowed and just wondering on how to join thanks

When you join, on the left you need to click on the purple sqaure which allows you to select a civ spot.

Next, scroll down to a free slot and click on it.

You should then be able to join as per normal
