Hovering Helicopters

I Just wanted clarification on if i am allowed to Hover a helicopter over somebody to stop them taking off, as technically speaking it is breaking Vdm isn't it?

(2.1) Vehicle Deathmatch (also known as VDM) - Using any vehicle as a weapon (e.g running people over, causing explosions including while sling loading, ramming, etc), will result in you receiving a ban. Three vehicles are excluded from this, MRAPS (Ifrits, Hunters and Striders) can ram other MRAPS in order to disable them, yet not to kill the passengers. This is allowed as these vehicles are the only vehicles ingame that can withstand being rammed.

as realistically are you not using your helicopter as a weapon?  anyway just after clarification thanks in advance fro the replies!

You are allowed to hover above them and if they fly into you then its their fault not yours. Just not allowed to go down into their rotors

It’s a common tactic, especially used by police, and is not breaking the vdm rule.

however, be careful how you employ this tactic, as the heli below you might try to manoeuvre to the side from under you, and if you follow and hit them, it may fall under VDM.

i would compare it to slowing down in front of someone in a car, if not done correctly, it could be considered VDM.

If you stay stationary and simply hover, it won’t be VDM.

Thanks for the reply.

Cleared somethings up it feels abit like rule play there though would you not think?

Also, make sure you give them time to see you there. If you fly straight in as they take off then you could be done for VDM

It seems like when it comes to this situation there are a lot of ifs, buts and maybes, so I think it should be cleared up in the rules by either stopping it or restricting it.

I have seen people hover things like Blackfishes, and in my opinion that shouldn't be allowed as it will tear through it any day. Sort of like common sense

Thanks for the reply.

Think of it this way, if I park my car in front of you and box you in. You cant hit my car, you're trapped. It's the same with a heli hovering above you
