I have purchased a house and am not able to open or close the doors, no scroll menu appears. I can sell and do stuff with windows key though.

It's like a car, you press U when looking at one of the doors to unlock it, but be warned that you have to use U to lock it again else anyone can open it. All doors in the house are locked.
